Gazprom, partners to double Bolivian gas field output
MOSCOW, Sep 21 (PRIME) -- A consortium comprising Russian gas giant Gazprom, France’s Total, Argentina’s Techpetrol and Bolivia’s YPFB plan to double gas output at the Incahuasi gas field in Bolivia to 13 million cubic meters per day in the near future, Gazprom spokesman Sergei Kupriyanov told RBC TV channel on Wednesday.
“It will be doubled soon, to 13 million cubic meters. And this will allow to meet demands of the Bolivian market and allocate part of this gas for exports,” he said.
The companies launched the field in mid-September and said its daily output would reach 6.5 million cubic meters by the end of 2016.
Total owns 50% in the consortium, while Gazprom and Tecpetrol own 20% each and YPFB has a 10% stake. The recoverable reserves of the Incahuasi field, located within Ipati and Aquio blocks, stand at 70.8 billion cubic meters of gas and 4.8 million tonnes of gas condensate.
Gazprom is interested in other projects in Bolivia, Kupriyanov also said.
